It is clear that an unhealthy life is an unhappy life. If you don’t have health it’s hard to enjoy life the way you want to. It makes sense to actively maintain a good level of health because this will increase your enjoyment of life. Here are five tips that you can consider.

Tip number one

The first thing you need to do is eat an healthy diet. Eating healthy will nourish your body, putting a lot of junk food in your body will just lower the performance of your body. It may also harm your body in the long run, so a balanced diet should be something that takes priority.

Tip number two

You should always stay fit and active, it is unfortunate that so many people are so lazy. It seems like the more advanced we get the more ways people find to do nothing. If you look at animals you see that they are constantly active and never have weight issues. Or major health problems.

Tip number three

You need to be constantly thinking about your weight this will prevent you from becoming overweight. You don’t have to be obsessive about watching your weight, but it should be in the back of your mind. Having too much weight can lead to heart problems which is something we all want to avoid.

Tip number four

It is your duty to control any stress that you may run into during the day, this may be at work or in your day-to-day life. You can control the amount of stress you are under believe it or not. In order to do this you will actively seek out people who compliment you lifestyle.

Tip number five

Smoking is not a good habit if you want to stay healthy, it is unfortunate how many people take up the habit of smoking to lose weight. The best way to lose weight is to follow a good weight loss program.

Putting these short five tips into practice will help you to enjoy the benefits of life, without restrictions. Have a great day!

Image : http://www.flickr.com

You are what you eat? What a cliché. How about saying it in the more literal sense. “Your health will reflect back onto what you eat”? In fact a persons lifestyle will reflect back on them in every aspect of their life. The ideal standard for good health is a balanced lifestyle. Are you living a balanced lifestyle, physically, mentally, and spiritually? Here is how to tell.

Physical Lifestyle

Do you wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and well rested? Are you within your weight by ten pounds? Do you do a physical activity at least once a day to get your heart rate pumping? Perhaps you do one of these. Walk briskly for one hour, exercise or calisthenics, about 45 minutes, sport of your choice, or light aerobic exercise? The body needs physical exercise of some kind once a day. If you work at a desk job you should get up every hour and do some stretches to get the blood flowing. When you get home, take a walk or do some light aerobic exercise.

Do you eat at least four servings of raw fruits or vegetables in one day? Health-wise you should eat at least four servings of raw food a day. Most nutritionists say that eating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables ensures you are receiving your daily intake of nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. An example of this is to eat a red apple with your breakfast, a green salad for lunch, a yellow orange for snack, and a purple cabbage slaw with dinner. You get the idea, right?

Emotional / Mental Lifestyle

Emotionally the balanced person does not feel in lack or in need for anything, even if they don’t have much. Having stuff is not where happiness lies. Stuff is great to have, no doubt about it, but if we are living our life, just going to work everyday so we can have more stuff that we really don’t need, there is an imbalance in our life. Besides work what else do you do? Do you have a hobby or other activity that you partake in?

Some people are mentally and emotionally sick because of past baggage. Perhaps they had an alcoholic parent, or perhaps they felt unloved and abandoned as a child. Whatever it is, you have to move on! Don’t keep bringing up a traumatic past when you have your future in front of you! That’s not right. Resolve your baggage and heal thyself. Live for today!

Mentally the balanced person feels good about who they are. They are generally have good relationships with others. Having good mental health does not mean you won’t ever have negative feelings, but that you won’t let your negative feelings to control you and your behavior. It’s normal to feel our emotions – that’s not what I’m talking about here. If a person is still dredging up the past from months or years ago, something is not mentally balanced within that person. If we have a negative past we have to resolve it and heal. Life is going to have its stresses and challenges. The mentally healthy face their challenges and resolve them instead of lingering in them.

Spiritual Lifestyle

Co-dependence, addictions, negative feelings, and inadequate relationship skills are because we are too dependent on how the world moves rather than on how God moves. We are too absorbed with the physical elements of our life rather than the spiritual. Where is the balance in that?

I’m not talking about organized religion here. Organized religion is for those people who like to have a guide helping them along the way towards whatever things spiritual they are seeking. Church is a great place to meet like-minded people but church can also stunt your growth. Church leaders are only seed planters, if even that. Once the seed is in your heart and in your mind only your relationship with your Creator will make the seed grow.

I (Paul) planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow.

(1 Corinthians 3:6,7)

When someone is new at accepting Christ, by all means they should “go to church” and learn the basic concepts about God and how God works in their life. But eventually that person has to grow and mature spiritually “in the Lord” and going to church is not where that is. Your relationship with God, through your prayers, thoughts, actions, and lifestyle is church! Church is in your heart and mind wherever you may be, and whenever you want it to be. Your spirituality is what you make it to be.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth. (John 423,24)

Your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health is a precious commodity. Your body and mind is aging every day. That means you’re not getting any younger. All areas of your health will decline faster if you don’t take care of your health now! You can be in control of your health, if you take control.

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Many people believe that in order to have a healthy body, one must spend a fortune. Well, good news. That is not necessarily true. In fact, there are many painless health techniques that can be done without having to dish out a lot of cash. One can actually do this for free and at any given time!

Below is a list of easy tips that can help in promoting a healthy lifestyle:

1.	Get an adequate amount of sleep every night. Whenever we sleep, our body regenerates its lost tissue and lets our system do its job in cleansing our body from unwanted toxins. Insufficient sleep gives us less energy and this can affect our mood for the day. Exhaustion can settle over the body and makes its overall function less effective. Every night, 8 hours is the ideal amount of time that one should spend sleeping in order to wake up healthy and rested.

2.	Learn from your mistakes by identifying them. Aside from focusing on what you want to achieve, spend some time to identify what were the circumstances and actions that have led you out of your tracks before. Know the things that you can do in order to counter that problem effectively in the future. Having a sound plan is winning half the battle and with a positive attitude, your chances of success will increase as well.

3.	Create tools that can manage your emotions. One of the primary causes of gaining weight is eating too much when stressed. A person without the right mindset can trigger unhealthy habits such as alcohol dependency, smoking or avoiding the problem all together. In order to correct this, one should invest their energy in addressing their issues in life and find out ways how it can be solved. Avoiding your problems can create emotional complications in the future.

After every struggle you have overcome, always acknowledge it by celebrating your achievements. Instead of a perfectionist mindset, always think that you are doing your best in whatever situations you encounter. Also, having a positive attitude can start your day right and work wonders for your life.

Just getting gin a few walks per week can make a huge difference in your over all well-being.

The Secret Of Rest And Relaxation

Living frugal is a necessity for some…if this is you, don’t forget to cover the basics.
You will sometimes overlook an area of basic need when you are living frugally.
The basics are:

· Clothing

Living frugal is a necessity for some…if this is you, don’t forget to cover the basics.

You will sometimes overlook an area of basic need when you are living frugally.

The basics are:

· Health

· Food

· Health Insurance

· Shelter

· Clothing

Fortunately there are ways to cover these and still be living frugal.

Health

Without good health, retirement will not be as good as it could be. You must exercise and watch what you eat. You don’t need to go to the gym…we all should be able to take a brisk daily walk. Make it a habit right now. Retirement does not mean the couch, living frugal means staying healthy.

Take control of certain medical expenses. For instance if the Dr wants to take some blood, do it yourself. The lab he or she probably uses will do the test cheaper for you directly. Go to the lab office or wait for the mobile lab to come to your grocery store. You also get the results sent to you so you have a record and do not have to rely on the doctor and another office visit. A full blood analysis costs $35.

Food

Common sense here, no fast food and stay on the perimeter of the grocery store. Avoid fast food by cooking the vast majority of your meals at home. To be living frugal use coupons, frequent shopper cards, and shop on one day only. Plan your food shopping and watch your costs go down and eat healthier.

Health Insurance

A necessary evil, but a basic none the less. Get a high deductible policy that will keep you from getting wiped out by a illness or operation. You could move to Mexico where $300 a year covers most of your health care costs. If you stay here just make sure you don’t waste money getting a policy…do your homework.

Shelter

There are alternatives to a house. Look at living in an RV, Living on a sailboat, park model mobile homes or Mexico to drastically cut this basic expense.

Clothing

If the word goodwill only means a word in a popular Christmas Carol… get with the program and shop at your nearest Goodwill or thrift shop. Make it a routine and you will come across some great bargains. My bride regularly shows off her new, I said new, purchases she gets for a dollar. Garage sales are also good for bargains…check them out.

To be living frugal does not mean ignoring the basics of health, food, clothing and shelter. Just make sure that you don’t waste a penny when you buy these basics. Enjoy.

These days we’re all watching what we spend, cutting back (or out) where we can. Luckily you can cut back on the costs of staying healthy without going back on your intentions to live well with these tips for healthy living.

Eating healthily, being physically active and getting regular healthcare are all still possible and affordable even on today’s smaller, tighter budgets according to experts.

A spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, Bethany Thayer, herself a registered dietician, points out that eating healthy can be done on a budget. You just need to plan carefully and shop smart. Here are some superb savings tips:

- Make as much of your own food as you can from scratch – prepackaged foods always cost more.

- Plan your trip to the supermarket armed with a detailed list and a full stomach – never go in hungry or in a hurry.

- Enjoy seasonal foods when you can – but only buy as much as you know you can eat before it spoils.

- Frozen or canned fruits and veggies last longer than the ones in the crisper in your fridge so you can take advantage of sales and larger sizes to stock up… and they taste yummy too.

- Use coupons – this can save you from 10-15% on your grocery bill.

- Think about portions, especially when it comes to meats. Your servings should be the size of a deck of playing cards, so a package of chicken breasts could be prepared at one time but used for two meals.

- Put leftovers away promptly so that there’s no question they’re safe to eat again, and you won’t be tempted to go back for seconds.

- Try less expensive foods for the nutrients you need. Beans are an affordable source of protein and fiber, what’s more there are many varieties and you can use them lots of ways, hot or cold. Popcorn and oatmeal are inexpensive grains, while nonfat dry milk is an affordable source of dairy.

Exercise is another healthy lifestyle choice that can be done on a budget.

While gym memberships might not be affordable anymore, you can still be physically fit and active… you just need to be more creative.

Any activity or body movement that causes you to expend energy is good – running the stairs, gardening, a game of hoops in the driveway – everyday things can do wonders to keep your body in shape.

According to Michael Esco, an exercise physiology instructor at Auburn University Montgomery, other ways to stay physically fit without spending a fortune include…

- Use what you have – a jumprope, a bike, even a dog can all be great ways to get yourself up and moving on a regular basis. You don’t have to spend money. Use cans of veggies, bottles or jugs of water for your strength training program.

- Buy a pedometer, as simply owning this under $20 device can have you being more active. Studies found that subjects who wore them walked an extra mile or two a day. Another option is a physioball (less than $40) to help you do exercises like push ups, crunches and squats. If you’d like a stationary bike, consider a bicycle trainer (about $100) to turn your regular bike into stationery one.

- Simple exercises that use your own body weight – push-ups, sit-ups and squats can be very effective.

Now that we’ve covered eating and exercising, we’ll talk about the one you think you can live without… regular health care.

The good news is that you can save on health care, but it’s not by skipping checkups and standard screenings.

Doctor’s will tell you that it’s easier, and cheaper, to treat a health problem earlier as opposed to later. These checkups, that do often carry co-pays, are the time for your doctor to find, and be able to nip in the bud some costly and potentially dangerous conditions. Screenings too allow things to be caught early, before they become serious.

Here are some smart tips from Dr. Thomas J. Weida of the Penn State College of Medicine’s Department of Family and Community Medicine to help you safely reduce what you spend on healthcare…

- Look at prescription medications and discuss with your doctor switching to cheaper, but equally effective alternatives, or larger doses that you can then tailor to your needs.

- Buy over the counter medications in bulk if you can, but be sure you’ll use them before the expiration date.

- Staying out of the emergency room makes sense on lots of levels, cost certainly being one of them. In these situations you often end up having (and paying for) tests your own doctor might not have ordered since he/she can follow you more closely.

- Treat at home if you can, especially when it’s a routine illness like a cold or flu that’s progressing as it has for you in the past. Call your doctor if you feel worse or something different happens.

- Call the doctor’s office with a question, as often the doctor of his/her staff can help you over the phone, directing you to a good product to use or what to do to help yourself feel better.

The encouraging news for anyone who wants tips for healthy living is that no matter how tight your money is, there are always ways to stick to your goals… to keep your body strong and healthy. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

We sometimes forget to relax in this busy world we live in. The pressures of today’s society for us to be productive can affect our priorities. And we get sucked into the rat race and cut throat, take no prisoners corporate environment that can take time away from our family. It is not bad to be ambitious and competitive but there are limits. Moderation in all things, even in the accumulation of wealth is a healthy and viable reason for living a good life. Here are some things that you may consider in trying to find that balance between career and your personal life:

- Take care of your body. Often times, we forget to exercise because of so much things to do for work. Balance your time and do exercise. Look for a proper weight loss diet plan that fits your schedule and the way you live. There are many weight loss diet plans out in the market so ask around through your friends about the diets that are working. Most of the information on these diets are available online and it is good to surf the web and take a look on what the diet entails. There are some diets that are geared for those that exercise frequently while others are tailor made for those who are less athletic. Some diets may ask you to take dietary supplements to restore energy while other diets starve out your stored fats making you somewhat weak. It is really up to you on which diet to consider taking and how fast you want to lose weight.

- Do things other than work on weekends. The weekends are meant for you to enjoy your rest day. Do things that are not work-related and which makes you relax or enjoy the down time. You may want to go out of town for the weekend. You can indulge on spas and resorts or you can enjoy the panoramic view of a vista made by mother earth. Getting out of the city is a must especially if you have a very stressful job. If the budget is tight, then go for a day trip and do a long drive that takes you to the coast. If not visit family and relatives nearby and spend the weekend with them. Being with your folks or relatives brings you back to the days of your youth when things were simpler then. Reconnecting with them is a great way to de-stress.

Finally! You can lose weight in one week with a healthy weight loss diet plan!
The large-scale production of food products requires certain synthetic additives to be included for the purpose of maintaining freshness and extending shelf life. Food additives are also used for adding bulk to food and for flavouring and colouring.

Additives are usually synthetic or derived from a natural source and manipulated in such a way that they do a job they were not originally intended to do.

Combinations of additives in a single food product could include – Colouring, Preservative and Flavour with one or all additives being from synthetic sources.

Living Naturally requires an on going commitment to reducing the chemical load we consume within food. We can do this by continually researching product ingredients and perusing labels on commercially produced foods.

The alternative to perusing product labels is to choose brands you recognise and consume as much as you possibly can of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat that have not been processed. You would also benefit from seeking food from Certified Organic growers.

Eating Healthy Organic food is a large part of maintaining a healthy Lifestyle but being physically active is an important part as well. Moderate activity such as brisk walking goes a long way to benefiting our overall health. We can also achieve both a high quality nutritious food and maintain a moderate activity level by growing our own Organic and Natural Fruit and Vegetables in our own backyards.

A good eating plan will also include a Natural and Organic Supplement that is high in Antioxidants to assist in eliminating toxins from the body.

Tips for Living an Organic and Natural Lifestyle:

Avoid commercially produced food products. Products manufactured in bulk usually contain additives and preservatives to extend shelf life and add colour and flavour to a commercially dull product.
Read product Labels and get to know the names of the ingredients that should be avoided. A long list of numbers is usually a good indicator that there are many synthetic additives in the product.
Consider growing your own fresh fruit and vegetables. Strawberries, Raspberries, Herbs, Silverbeet, Beetroot, Rocket, Alfalfa, Wheatgrass and many more nutrient rich foods can easily be grown in even the smallest backyards.
Look for Certified Organic Farmers and growers in your area. Join a local organic garden club or a community gardening program. If there is not community garden in your area, write to your local council about the possibility of starting one.
Use supplements to maintain nutrition and Antioxidant levels, Use a Certified Organic Supplement whenever possible. Ask your pharmacist or Dr for their recommendations.
